Rehabilitation

there has been a huge improvement in my ability to manage housework and gardening…

I can’t remember a time in my life when I did not have a bad back.  My first specialist appointment was when I was eight years old.  Over the years I have consulted doctors, specialists, chiropractors, physiotherapists, attended exercise classes, gyms and done endless back exercises.  None of these made very much difference and the pain was quite bad even doing ordinary things like vacuuming, hanging out the washing and standing for more than five minutes.

I retired from the workforce when I was sixty two and looked around for some fun things to do to keep fit. I decided to try pilates without having a clear idea of what was involved.  I found it very hard when I started but there was always an easier version of the exercises and I started to build up my core strength. I am now in my third year of classes and there has been a huge improvement in my ability to manage housework and gardening and I am free of pain most of the time.

I would recommend pilates classes to anyone with back problems. Just one hour a week can make a difference.

If ever I needed to be around supportive people it was at this time.

I have been training with this group for several years but it is when I was set back with a severe knee injury that the support and encouragement of Liam and his instructors came into their own.

With the assistance of the medical, physio and instructors at Life Force I was able to return to the routine I had been used to for so many years.

It was with their support, encouragement and ability to adjust the program to my capabilities on the day that I was able to return to a exercise program earlier than I ever thought possible.

If ever I needed to be around supportive people it was at this time.

I cannot thank enough all the instructors together with others in the classes for their encouragement which kept me motivated during this time.

So, if anyone out there thinks because they have had surgery they have to stay at home to recover well think again. Get yourself involved with the Life Force team and before you know it you will be back doing the things you love as I am!

It is this personal interest in what is best for me and my body that makes it so easy for me to recommend LIFEFORCE training to anybody of any fitness ability or disability.

I don’t have a huge success story to tell announcing massive weight loss or muscle gain. My success story is refocusing my goals and accepting where I need to start.

I have extremely high expectations of my body and have spent much of the last 12 months ignoring signs that it wasn’t coping with the ‘exercise’ abuse I was putting it through.  I began the Wednesday morning sessions in Gum to add to my fitness regime to build strength, as I was mostly focused on running.  Slowly my back began to give way with the extra work …. which sounds like a bad review.  But in fact, it was a good thing.  Liam and Rachelle convinced me to go see Jamie, the local physio in Birdwood. Liam honestly told me he needs to know exactly what’s wrong and shares information with Jamie, so that he can give me the best exercises for me … and avoid the worst ones for my back.

It is this personal interest in what is best for me and my body that makes it so easy for me to recommend LIFEFORCE training to anybody of any fitness ability or disability.  I feel confident that Liam will have the knowledge to challenge my body appropriately, as I am clearly not a good judge of this.  I push it too far!

Jamie cannot recommend Pilates highly enough to me to build up my core and back strength – which I am yet to begin …. with LIFEFORCE.  So, I will still have high expectations of my body, but I now understand that I will only achieve these if I exercise responsibly

…and this is what I have faith in Liam to help me do.

Liam was able to devise specific exercises for me and knew which ones were best right away.

After suffering from back & neck injuries for many years, Liam was able to devise specific exercises for me and knew which ones were best right away. I was able to build my strength and fitness levels. His knowledge is excellent, and he has lots of information on nutrition as well which I found quite impressive.

I visited a chiropractor every 5 weeks prior to joining life force but since have only been maybe 5 times in the four years.

I started with life force attending pilates nearly four years ago and it has changed my life. I visited a chiropractor every 5 weeks prior to joining life force but since have only been maybe 5 times in the four years. I have also done kickboxing which is awsome fun and a great cardio workout. It is also the quickest way to tone up! I am definitely fitter and stronger now at 50 than what I was at 30. Give it a go It will change your life, guaranteed!!!!

I got the benefit of one on one training while being surrounded by a great bunch of people.

I started training with Life Force after the birth of my second child. I immediately felt welcome. Even though I was doing a group personal training session Liam always focused in on my personal fitness goals and past injuries – I got the benefit of one on one training while being surrounded by a great bunch of people. I did an adventure race 6 months after I gave birth!
