Nordic Walking
Nordic Walking is an outdoor walking program which utilizes special poles that incorporates 20 more muscles due to the upper body use. This gives an increase of energy consumption of up to 40 with a lower rate of perceived exertion. Posture is also greatly improved as the hard to work upper back muscles are incorporated which is imperative for functional strength & performance.
We train in the fresh air, cover greater distances, in a friendly environment for all ages. Over 50’s love this type of workout which also helps with arthritis & improves circulation in a low impact system. As does anyone with knee &/or hips problems as the use of walking poles takes the pressure off the lower body.
Hidden inside the poles are resistance bands so muscle conditioning is not forgotten.
